This all-new 2022 model, however, is a genuinely premium surprise. Getting to sample a next generation model from a car company is always an intriguing prospect.
VERDICT. 62. The new Outlander is worthy of a test-drive, and we still think the Aspire is the pick of the range. The Exceed’s extras don’t really help (unless you really need the digital dashboard that used to be in the Aspire), especially given the headroom-munching sunroof.

The Outlander has a 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine making 135kW and 245Nm. The 2022 Outlander has yet to be given an ANCAP safety rating, but it does come with a raft of safety features such as forward AEB, lane keeping assistance and blind spot warning on all grades.
